Giulia Lorenzi :

I am PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Warwick. My main area of research is philosophy of auditory perception.

I have always been very enthusiastic about studying new connections and interactions between my two principal interests: philosophy of perception and music. Now, I am working on  project on the special auditory case of listening to music.

I like presenting my work in different countries and in various circumstances because I consider the discussions enriching occasions to improve my research activity.

My interests concern the metaphysics of sounds and silence, the perception of space and time through audition, the interaction and the analogy among the sensory modalities and their functioning, the perception of speeches and music. I employ my knowledge about Italian Opera of 19th century and modern and contemporary instrumental music, to explain the working of auditory perception.
